International Women's Day Triennial Awards

The Community Development Department is again collaborating with the Institute for Gender and Development Studies: Nita Barrow Unit of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus to host activities in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

As part of the celebrations the Institute for Gender and Development Studies: Nita Barrow Unit, will host an Awards Ceremony. This ceremony will honour eleven women who have contributed to the development of Barbados and have made a difference in their communities by improving the lives of others. In celebration of Barbados’ 50th Anniversary of Independence, we will be honouring a twelfth woman.

As is customary the Minister and the Permanent Secretary with responsibility for the Community Development Department will present the awards. The Minister will deliver the Feature Address.

The presentation ceremony will take place on March 5th 2016 at 7:00 p.m at Lecture Theater 1, Roy Marshall Teaching Complex, UWI, Cave Hill Campus.
